The team of the NMR Service: Prof. Dr. Bernhard Jaun (Head), Dr. Marc-Oliver Ebert (Deputy), Rainer Frankenstein, Philipp Zumbrunnen.

The NMR Service is responsible for the area of nuclear magnetic resonance of the Institute.
This includes the operation and maintenance of NMR spectrometers now twelve of 200 MHz to 600 MHz operating in the following areas:

• "Hands-on" spectrometer, where the staff of the Institute itself measured (five 300 Mz spectrometer, mainly 1D-¹H, ¹⁹F, ³¹P, ¹³C-NMR).
• Automatic measurements with sample changer (two 400 MHz spectrometer; 1D-¹H, ¹⁹F, ³¹P, ¹³C-NMR, 2D NMR, such as routine COZY, HSQC, HMBC, TOCSY).
• Challenging and specific measurements, which by the staff of the NMR service to be performed (two 500 MHz and two 600 MHz spectrometers, including Kryoprobenkopf). In this area, virtually all of the experiments are high-resolution NMR spectroscopy in liquid phase, and HR-MAS measurements.

The NMR-Service advises the staff of the research groups in the choice of an optimal measurement strategy and help as needed in the interpretation of the spectra.

The NMR service also provides the infrastructure for the NMR part of the courses in analytical and physical chemistry.
