The yearly held Prelog Lecture is organized by the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry.

The „Prelog Lecture“ was established 1986, in order to honour Professor Vladimir Prelog for his extraordinary merits for the science and the industry in Switzerland.

On September 22, 1986, in the frame of a scientific symposium, the first „Prelog Lecture“ was held and the first „Prelog Medal“ was awarded. This tradition was maintained until to date.
