Andreas Bach (1970) was born in Thun (Switzerland). He obtained his diploma degree in chemistry in 1995 and a Ph.D. degree in 2000 from the University of Berne under the supervision of Prof. Samuel Leutwyler. He then joined the group of Prof. F. Fleming Crim at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a postdoctoral fellow before moving to ETH in 2002. In September 2007 he become group leader of the research group of Prof. Peter Chen. His research focuses on the gas-phase dissociation dynamics of radicals and the gas-phase ion-molecule chemistry of organometallic complexes relevant in homogeneous catalysis.
